A Thanksgiving Tradition

A Thanksgiving Tradition 1A Thanksgiving Tradition 2This week, Project READ staff and volunteers hosted one of our now most beloved holiday traditions– our Thanksgiving Distribution. Each year,  two gracious Project READ volunteers spearhead this amazing community gift by donating funds to ensure all of our Project READ families have a happy, healthy and nourishing Thanksgiving dinner. This is truly an act of community giving at its best. This inspiring tradition is made possible because of the generous donations from two of our biggest supporters, the partnership of Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, and the time and  effort of Project READ volunteers and staff. There’s truly so much to be grateful for.

What began as one kind gesture from one volunteer has become a long-anticipated and much appreciated event that has helped hundreds of families in need bring dinner home for Thanksgiving.

This year, we purchased 160 turkeys and hams, tortillas, bread, eggs, corn, beans and green beans for sides, milk, eggs and fresh produce distributed these meals to 133 Project READ families. We hope you all have a warm and

Inspired by this act of generosity and community effort? There are ways to help. This year, we are seeing food shortages in our community and food banks. Together, we can continue this tradition and help ensure food for our families throughout the year. Happy Thanksgiving!
