Each year we are inspired by the generosity of our Project READ community, especially during the holidays. This year has been particularly challenging to many of our community members and Project READ families. To help ease the burden and ensure that all Project READ families will enjoy a nutritious Thanksgiving meal, Project READ staff, generous donors, volunteers, tutors and Board members worked together to distribute Thanksgiving meals to close to 110 Project READ families last week. This included 75 turkeys and 90 hams in addition to fresh produce, eggs, bread and food to prepare side dishes. Don’t worry, we never forget dessert– Project READ families in need will also en
joy some festive pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving. We are so grateful to our two volunteers that give specific donations to help us purchase this much needed for to our learners and families. We have lots to be thankful for this year, and so much of it begins with community. Thank you to all of our Project READ supporters, learners, tutors, volunteers and families.
Happy Thanksgiving!
