This month's Family Story Hour was a WILD event, as Wild Things, Inc. joined us with a myriad of wild animals for our families to learn about. Children and their families were able to watch and even touch an assortment of animals from snakes and lemurs to even alligators. Along with knowledge about the animals themselves, students also learned about the importance animals play in our world and how to respect these animals and their habitats. Over 190 children and adults attended Story Hour this month.
All our families brought home the classic children's book, "Put Me in the Zoo," to build their home libraries. There was also a book table display with an assortment of titles for families to chose from. Students created three different crafts that tied into the theme of the book and the event using recycled or household items, so they can easily be recreated at home. Thirteen HOBA volunteers helped students craft away and helped us set up for the event. Thank you, HOBA!
