More fun, more faces, more to celebrate! That is what we did a week ago at Project READ’s annual BBQ & Awards Ceremony, held at Red Morton Park. With 240 guests and 92 volunteers in attendance, we were busy all day, eating, dancing, crafting and playing lots of backyard games
. We had so much to celebrate this year– so many of our tutoring pairs, learners and families showed up to celebrate their hard work and dedication to their literacy and learning. This event wouldn’t have been a successful without lots of hands and help from volunteers, local businesses and supporters to help. A Black Tie Affair helped with catering, Lily Curincita headed up our decor with an amazing balloon arch, and so many people brought food to share. So many families, community members and literacy supporters came to share in this fun-filled day. Long-time Project READ advocate and Vice Mayor, Kaia Eakin was on hand to show her support of our learners and tutors among so many others.
We are so thankful to our amazing Project READ community. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
